There is a small city on the East Coast shoreline which conjures up images of quaint seafood restaurants, unique shops filled with original art and friendly people. It is a colorful city. It has a few good nicknames but the one which sticks out is “Most Fun Small Town in America”.

Delray Beach, Florida

Travelers driving up or down the coastal scenic State Road A1A in Florida are likely to see a lot of great little seaside towns. Each one has its own personality and is well-known for something. Delray Beach is special in its own way for its soft sand and the crystal clear water of the Atlantic Ocean. It is more calm and relaxed than its Fort Lauderdale or Miami, its southern neighbors. Even though the city is usually placed in that tri-county designation, it is far from it. Far, that is, from the transplanted residents of the Northeast who live in the Fort Lauderdale area and farther yet from the international residents in Miami. Delray Beach is special for offering much more than just its famous beach. Watch the video on the left side of on this Today in America with Terry Bradshaw page for more about this awesome place.

Shopping, Nightlife and Free Parking

Delray Beach is an artful city and by that we mean it is chock full of spectacular art galleries, jewelry shops, bakeries and restaurants. There is nothing plain about this place. Even the Adirondack chairs outside for tired visitors are painted in the pastels which make the area famous. If looking for something special to take home as a souvenir for someone or for yourself, you will not be let down. While most of the other towns and cities along the coast are heavily dotted with high priced parking meters and lots, Delray Beach has plenty of free parking lots and garages. There is always something neat to find and do here which is why it was named “Best of the Road – Most Fun Small Town in America” by Rand McNally & USA Today.

Points of Interest from Today in America with Terry Bradshaw

Hitting the beach and shopping are not the only things to do in the Delray area. Visit the exquisite American Orchid Society Visitor Center and Botanical Garden and be amazed at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. There are also seven respected institutions of higher learning in the Palm Beach County, Florida area. If all of this is too much, why not rest under the many trees in town which is one reason why The National Arbor Day Foundation named Delray Tree City USA. It is only a little over 15 square miles but those miles offer more for the residents and visitors than one can possibly get done. It has 111 restaurants, 52 spas and salons, 49 retail stores, and 29 art galleries. A day in Delray Beach is a day of relaxation, beach-going, shopping, eating and having the most fun in a small town. What are you waiting for?

A break-out of cases of the West Nile virus has officials concerned that cases this year might match the worst years on record, 2002 and 2003. A 40-percent increase in the number of cases in the past week has federal and state health officials worried about the coming months. Mosquitoes transmit the sometimes-fatal disease to humans after feeding on infected birds. So far this year, almost 1,600 people across the country have contracted the disease, with Texas accounting for close to half of the cases. All states except Hawaii and Alaska have had cases of the disease. More than sixty people have died from the disease. The number of cases may be much higher as most people with mild cases do not report their symptoms to health officials. Symptoms of the disease include body aches, fever and headaches. The Today in America TV show, which runs on a number of cable channels and networks across the U.S., informs television audiences about health subjects, medical stories, business stories, lifestyles topics, technology developments and far more.

The Today in America television program, hosted by Terry Bradshaw, explores encouraging stories from all parts of American culture, including the business world. Today in America with Terry Bradshaw highlights improvements in a broad collection of fields and industries.
The track and field events have begun at the London Olympics, and yesterday Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt, 25, won the gold medal in the 100-meter dash for the second straight Olympics, regaining the title of “World’s Fastest Man.” Bolt, the world record-holder in the event, set an Olympic record with his blistering time of 9.63 seconds, became just the third sprinter to win back-to-back gold medals in the event. Bolt had lost his title of world’s fastest man between the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and this year’s Olympics, but regained the title on the world’s biggest stage. Bolt will attempt to defend his title in the 200-meter dash, and is also expected to run on Jamaica’s 4 x 100-meter relay and 4 x 400-meter relay. Although no American man has held the title of world’s fastest man in years, the Today in America with Terry Bradshaw TV show congratulates Mr. Bolt for his dominant performance yesterday.
America’s worst drought in decades keeps getting worse, as the federal government added more counties to the growing list of counties declared natural disaster areas. The addition of the 218 counties yesterday pushed the total number of disaster counties to 1,584, more than half of the counties in the United States. The counties stretch across 32 states. The Agriculture Department opened up more than 3.8 million acres of land set aside for conservation for farmers and ranchers to use for grazing and haying. The long, hot, dry summer this year has decimated crops, and livestock farmers have also suffered big losses, threatening damage to the weak economic recovery.

Amid the bad news about unusual weather and unforeseen economic hurdles, the TV program Today in America with Terry Bradshaw explores different ways that businesses and entrepreneurs in different industries have adjusted and adapted to difficult circumstances and prepared themselves for worst-case scenarios. Today in America reviews risk-management practices that businesses across the nation use to protect themselves from economic harm.

Today in America Terry Bradshaw brings its viewers across the country stories from all areas of the United States and Canada. The Today in America TV show focuses on encouraging stories of achievement, advancement and progress. The Today in America television program features narrator and host Terry Bradshaw, a former pro football standout and familiar TV figure.

The prolonged economic downturn of recent years has taken a toll on cities across the country. San Bernardino, Calif. this week became the 3rd city in California to seek bankruptcy protection in the last two weeks.
Environmental concerns have risen in recent decades as people become more aware of the damage caused by man’s energy use and exploitation of natural resources. The Today in America television show explores developments and advances in the alternative energy industry, sometimes called the green energy industry.
